I'll be using QuickBooks on this computer - choose this if you are not using QuickBooks in a network OR if you are installing on a computer that will be used for running QuickBooks but will not store the company file. I will be storing our company file here so it can be shared over network. A license is not required for this option. You'll then be given the opportunity to choose a new install location. You can browse to a new directory, choose an older version to overwrite, or just click Next to install to the default directory..
Click Install to continue, or click Back if you need to go back and review any of the previous screens. If any QuickBooks processes were running during the installation, the installer may ask you to restart your computer. Otherwise, click Open QuickBooks to get started! We have Quickbooks Desktop set up as a 1 user but on 2 computers. So that the owner uses his computer when he needs to, and then closes it, and can go home and use the laptop if he needs to. Now we have purchased this 2nd disc so that we can have 2 users open at the same time.
So do we uninstall the current installed QB Desktop Pro on the laptop, and then put in the disc and install the new licensed QB onto the laptop?
Is that how we get the 2nd license to sync with the first license? This is where I am stuck, because the option to add another license will NOT work online, and when we call all they want to do is sell us QB which we are not interested in. Can someone please explain EXACTLY the steps to get the new license onto the 2nd computer we are using so the boss and I both can be on the computers at the same time, by using the new disc we purchased?

If they refused, you should claim for refund of your second license of QBD , and purchase a new license of QBD for 2 users instead.
